I will live near you
but not in love.
Reaching it low and
around, I proved
my head empty yet
body consumed,
fused breaths can
mean so many things
if not pressing us
against walls, fitting
your curves into
my palms, drawing
sighs from gold hairpins
like pinching prayers
off an epicure’s throat.
