About the Artist

David P. Quady (b. 1981, Norfolk, NE) is a Minneapolis-based figurative painter working primarily in oil on linen or panel. His work draws from direct observation, transforming everyday spaces, people, and objects into intimate, layered compositions that explore the tension between clarity and ambiguity. Influenced by Spanish Baroque painting, Delacroix’s color theories, and the observational rigor of the Madrid Realists, Quady foregrounds light and surface as narrative tools. He earned his MFA in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2025, focusing on the emotional resonance of domestic interiors. Quady has exhibited regionally and continues to develop a practice grounded in careful observation and the poetic potential of the everyday.
