Creator Commentary
This film is an adaptation of the poem, The Last Helllos, by Les Murray. An autobiographical poem about his father’s death, I first encountered this poem shortly after my grandfather had passed. I was surprised by the similarities between the two men, from different countries and different generations. Mr. Murray allowed me to adapt the into a film set in the same sort of world that my grandfather lived in, and I was honored that he enjoyed it. Shortly after sharing the film with him, Mr. Murray passed as well.
