Waltz: An Essay in Terza Rima

This video essay experiments with the idea of three in by overlapping three different mediums: 1) the 3/4 timing of waltz music, 2) the three beat choreography of waltz dancing, and 3) the form of terza rima poetry in three line stanzas.

This piece was inspired by my practice of three mediums: poetry, ballroom dance, and music. As an artist, I find myself both inspired and flummoxed as I attempt to arrange my words and my body into a certain form of expression. Some ideas resist being tidily arranged, and this piece is an acknowledgement of that beautiful yet baffling truth.
