Author | Ann Christine Tabaka
Red skies, blue promises
I remember you
when the lilacs were in bloom,
you held out your hand
I was lost in your history
of castles and white knights,
begging for another caress,
only to be discarded
Dragged through the darkness
like a frightened child,
the ocean called to me by name
I answered with a sigh
Like so many dandelion seeds
I was scattered adrift,
nothing left to give,
but a red sky
