Incongruity
I see you though I don’t know who you are.
You follow me no matter where I go.
You peel apart my self-effacing scar.
You follow me no matter where I go.
You peel apart my self-effacing scar.
Your visage in the mirror of my car
repulses me with eyes of peridot.
I see you though I don’t know who you are.
Like fission ends the sentimental star
oft wished-upon by poor Pinocchio
you peel apart my self-effacing scar.
When drowsiness enshrouds my thoughts in tar
and terror from my malformed mouth does flow
I see you though I don’t know who you are.
I hide but you can spot me from afar.
Across my being’s infinite plateau
you peel apart my self-effacing scar.
I am a lightless house with door ajar
and you a ghost with irises aglow.
I see you. Though I don’t know who you are
you peel apart my self-effacing scar.
